We believe software for homes should be honest, bounded, and clear about what it does and does not do. Here is our straightforward approach.
1. Your family account
Criskits keeps each household’s information separate. Your account only gets access through its household membership. Parents and children authenticate with separate credentials. Within a household, chore lists, review items, and allowance metrics are scoped strictly to verified members.
2. Who controls what
We enforce strict boundary separation between parent and child roles:
- •Parents: Have full authority to create chores, approve or request redoes on submissions, configure monthly allowance amounts, define payout tiers, and close monthly periods.
- •Children: See only their assigned chores, submission status, parent feedback, and calculated monthly progress. Children cannot approve their own chores, alter allowance settings, or close periods.
3. Money & payments
Criskits is a household organisation tool, not a bank.
• Criskits doesn’t hold or move your money.
• Criskits works out and records the pocket-money amount. You pay it outside Criskits in whatever way works for your family.
• Once paid, the parent can record the payment inside Criskits to mark the month as settled.
4. Respecting children and young people
We do not track location, monitor browsing, or employ behavioural dark patterns. There are no algorithmic feeds, social sharing features, public profiles, streaks, or gamified addiction loops. The product exists solely to clarify household jobs and reward honest effort.
5. Privacy & Data Handling
We store the information needed to run your household’s chores and pocket money: account emails, names within the household, chore details, review notes, and allowance settings. Access is limited to your household’s members.
